Bushmills has the distinction of being the world's oldest licensed distillery. It is thought to date back to the 13th Century, and the first licence was granted by James the First to Sir Thomas Phillips in 1608.

Bushmills Whiskey has been celebrated for many years, over which time it has won a number of prestigious awards. It owes its superior quality both to the crisp waters of the River Bush which are naturally filtered through peat soil and soft basalt rock, and time-honoured traditions of distillation and maturation.
